Yeah - I've been reading that on
myspace in several Neuroscience
groups I belong to - quite an
interesting debates going on in
there ..

But here's what I found what was
so funny (and spurred an argument)
<note: this is worldwide so everyone
is involved but unfortunately it's a
private group and I can't post a link
nor can I post 114 pages of postings
either> ....

"yeah I kno, the further your away
frum it, it not wurk so well"

"So how close do you need to be?"

"PR should do it! It's functional pretty
good over there and they're not too
far away"

"that sux! how the hell am i gunna do
a test run in seattle?"

"Move to PR?"

"hell no! i was there when hurricanes
hit fla and no fuking way am i gunna hit
pr!"

"May I offer a solution? Move Seattle to
the Equator?"

" LOL! "

" LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Robin, check out Dr. Ochs' LENS neurofeedback system.
Siegfried Othmer said:
It was only as a psychologist in private practice, and navigating under the innocuous rubric of biofeedback, that Len was able to make an end-run around all of repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) research essentially single-handedly. The most dramatic breakthrough in mental health has all along been hiding in plain sight.

Book Review of The Healing Power of Neurofeedback by Stephen Larsen

Very funny
I am not understanding their argument though. I understand magnetic fields, but this is being created. One of the arguments talks about people being seizure free after an MRI. I can't remember if that was true for Rebecca, but I certainly will go back and review y calendar. Seems rather harmless to me. Maybe I need to make her a hat that has magnets sewn into the inside.
Guess I need to go do more research.

Bernard - I was reading that the other day. It seems interesting. Is that the same thing?

From what I understood, Dr. Ochs' LENS system is using similar principles to the rTMS, but in a much more effective manner.

The LENS system is still fairly new and still being improved and studied. One good thing about it is that it does not require active participation from the patient, so it is conducive to double blind placebo studies. Hopefully, a large scale study of this type will be done soon and the FDA & insurance companies will take notice.

When I was going thru my bad spell with the epilepsy in the 90's,my best friend called me in MTl and told me to try the magnets. SO I bought them because I never gave up hope and believed I had to try everything. In all honesty I didn't think they did anything for me.
Thou I tried!!!!!!!!!!!
I have done better with the homeopathy and the diet!!!!

It's ALL electrical somehow ain't it? I can't see a way to dismiss this one myself...I mean, really? Now getting it down to a repeatable CANNED science some suits will sign off on?---good luck, need some celebs maybe. Again, as for me, mark me down as on board with furthering research into magnet treatment...it's got po'.

------------------------------------------------

I'd try the magnets, but it would really mess with my 8-track tape collection:eek: --JK

WHY YOU THINK I'Z A MUSIC FIEND? Strap me to a speaker magnet...I'll feel fine!

Robin - No - they're out there. The one that's
functional right now that's being effective is
the one in PR (Puerto Rico) at a Hospital. The
success rate is pretty good with their patients
during the trial testings is very good compared
with the other countries who are performing
the same tests. It seems that the further away
from the Equator you are, you don't fare so well.

So hopefully that Posting below will make sense
again. These are from Hospitals / Universities.

PR is also being successful with fMRI as well
for some odd reason, and it seems to be the
closer you are to the Equator the higher your
success rates. There are Neuroscientists out
there studying this and their equipments are
the same as what everyone else is using.

It seems that the closer to the Poles (North
or South) - you don't get as good response
and they're into studying as WHY. So I've
been reading it all along - Professors, Doctors,
Students, Scientists, etc.

This study has been going on since 1997,
and reintroduced in another method again in
2002 and brought up again in 2005; and another
formula was made manifested in 2006.

PS: As for the LENS - I'm still reading up on
that book and in some ways lines up with
what they are stating above but in a
different perspective, but to me, the
ones they're speaking of - are ahead of
the game with the advanced computer
technologies. I just wished they would
post more often and frequently with their
findings, conclusions.

Yes I too will keep watch for this new technology.
