Plyometrics

Hi guys,

I've just had a kind of insight and was wondering if any of you will have something to say on the matter?

-> PLYOMETRIC EXERCISE <-

Supposedly it comes with neurological components directly related to muscle contraction.
Wondering if it's potentially harmful or possibly even beneficial to train in plyometric based exercise?
Curious as to whether it increased the violence of tonic clonics or offered more control over the nervous system? I'd be inclined to believe it offered some support and control. But then again I am probably wrong. I'm not sure. Anyhow, google it if you're interested.

What is plyometrics?
NEUROLOGICAL COMPONENT

I had never heard of this before, or that it had a specific name. Obviously we have all see exercise done this way. However as a form of specific training I find it interesting. I will ask Rebecca's coach about this.

Plyometrics refers to exercise that enables a muscle to reach maximum force in the shortest possible time (3). The muscle is loaded with an eccentric (lengthening) action, followed immediately by a concentric (shortening) action.

It only makes sense that if you are in good physical condition, you won't feel as bad and you will probably recover much quicker after a T/C. That would explain why I feel like camel crap after................

It's not really something that you can put your finger on/in, or would want to.

Good point Wally. It could make recovery from seizures much less painful for your muscles.

Is there a crap-o-meter scale? You know, to describe which kind of crap is worse... sort of like a scale of 1-10...?

The medical folks have been using this scale for years

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pain_scale

It may work fine for them, but for me it doesn't quite make it. Part of getting rid of the pain is bitching about it. You need to be as descriptive as you can be about your plight so that you can get rid of it. Out with the bad, in with the good.

1-Fly Crap
2-Pigeon Crap
3-Squirrel Crap
4-Gerbil Crap
5-Cat Crap
6-Dog Crap
7-Horse Crap
8-Camel Crap
9-Rhinoceros Crap
10-Whale Crap

FOR ADVANCED BITCHERS ONLY:
Adjectives and or expletives may be added to further demonstrate your disatisfaction without committing to a higher level of crap. ie. "I feel like a steaming pile of #@!^&*%$ Rhinoceros Crap" would imply that the individual feels slightly worse than plain old every day Rhinoceros Crap but not as bad as Whale Crap. Whale Crap should be reserved for only the most severe ailments.

My favorite exercise is basketball. I can see these plyometrics being very applicable there. I am sure they would help with postictal recovery as well. Just ease into them as they can be very stressful on the out-of-shape body.

Hey Wally - thanks for the laugh.
