DR. DIETRICH P. BLUMER OF EPI-CARE CENTER IN MEMPHIS,TN first diagnosed me w/ TEMPORAL LOBE SYNDROME. I was just wondering if anyone knew of this term and if it is an expired term or if this is still a real thing?

Also, have heard of the TEMPORAL LOBE PERSONALITY??? Does anyone know anything about this?

My current diagnosis is Complex Partial Epilepsy and Complex Migraines and Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome/Anxiety.

I would appreciate any knowledge in this area.

I am no longer able to research things as I used to.

Thanks for listening.

I'm too new to all of this to know the answer to much of anything. I'll be interested to see if someone else does though!

WOW!!!

In all her research, my mother had told me that Van Gogh had epilepsy, but was unsure of what kind.

This is strikingly similar to mine. My neuro (& a specialist i'd recently visited) agreed that it sounded like it was in my temporal lobe. A lot of the symptoms described in that portion of the book (aside from the psychotic & hallucinations) r like what i experience.

Wow! again! Thanx for the link! Might hafta buy that book... :agree:

Dr. Dietrich Blumer used to be one of my doctors when I lived in Memphis, and when I visited his office, he had paintings of Van Gogh in his office. Dr. Blumer also did many writings about Van Gogh and his epilepsy/mental illness.

I have read that book that my mom bought, and I can see some of my mom in that book and I am being honest. I agree, it is a must read book, but there are some things in there that I would have to say "I don't understand" as well as some things there that kind of confuses me but it may be because I have my own neurological-problems myself. I can see some things of myself in that book too.
