I don't know where you can find free .MP3 files. Most of them should be copyrighted I would think. YouTube is a good place to find free music you can listen to while online.

Cool Anything in particular?...or his whole collection?.....

I am an AVID fan of music and I would love to help you find it!
In the mean time, like they mentioned before, YouTube is pretty nice for pulling up tunes for free if you are online....but it is relatively poor audio quality most of the time.

He's a RABID FAN!
He should be wearing rabies tag
on a collar and on a leash!
He's dangerous!

I'm almost afraid to ask what kind
of sound system, he has (almost want
to have a fund raiser in here that he
has a "surround sound" that's fully
loaded - from Boise - the ultimate
Theater - or it's his dream ...)!

Not exactly true there. Yes there was a time when you could only watch the videos online.
There is a program called save2pc that will allow you to download the videos to your computer. You can find it here: http://www.save2pc.com/ The program does work, I have been using it for sometime.

Also not exactly true. The majority of videos on Youtube & Google Video are decent quality.
The ones that are typically poor quality are the cobb jobs. Those are the videos submitted
by punk kids.

Maybe, but they are not 'readily apparent' as to their quality so time has to be spent comparing versions! At least that's been my experience so far....is there a grading system I'm missing here?

Thanks BIGMAN!

Yes, it's called your ears. But seriously, you can find lets say 10 videos of the song you like. But only 1 of them is any good. It's just like going shopping. You're not going to buy the dented can or rotted veggie are you?

I'm not exactly sure what Flashget is, so I can't confirm/deny that. But eDonkey is filesharing program. You use it to download from other peoples computers or servers.

Save2pc is a program that allows you to download videos from online sites. It only offers three selections: Youtube, Google Video, & Auto. I'm not sure what the Auto selection downloads from.

http://www.flashget.com/en/download.htm

FlashGet is a leading download manager It uses MHT(Multi-server Hyper-threading Transportation) technique, supports various protocols and has excellent document management features. FlashGet is a freeware without any adware or spyware.

I share this computer with three other people Ive seen my husband use edonky for books and flash get pops up and downloads when i download something off of a site...

I looked up save2pc auto says it speeds up your dl when your dl from two different sites it looks like it about the same as flashget

But you have to be careful with downloading
them though, some of them can contain
embedded spyware, adware, or even worse,
embedded viruses or trojans!

Downloading stuff "used to be fun", but now
it's "download at own risk"...

Regedit -- My favorite part of the computer!

People would bring their computers or
have me go to their homes to "FIX IT!"

Not only that, they never cleaned their
*.tmp, *.temp, *.chk, etc - files either,
nor had they ever went to their Admin
Panel on their computer and cleared out
the Event Logs over there either, and
the most files I ever encountered on one
computer had over 1 million FILES of
JUNK!

Because of so much - I had to delete a
lot of that manually, and then there's
programs - such as Bonzai Buddy, Wild
Tagnent, etc that are spyware, had to
delete those out, and my GOSH; one
thing after another and that was before
I even HIT the REGEDIT!

Those had to be removed FIRST (or
otherwise they would be reinstated),
and then it was REGEDIT time, then
disc clean up, defrag (and those who had
tons of files removed, would take hours
to defrag), then compression, and it
could take me 8-16 hours for all of that!
And once that was done, then Windows
Update, Antivirus Update, Adaware Installed,
Spybot Installed, CCleaner Installed, and
so on ... and then a good scolding from me!

I never charged anyone for any of it.
They were my neighbors and my friends.

I also used to pick up computers from garbage
and rebuild them and restored them; resell for
profit or donated to shelters, agencies, etc,
where they needed it the most, as they could
not afford "precious stuff like this".

Others that were "gone", I saved the parts; for
spares and backups. Even my Windows XP OS,
isn't a pure XP - it's actually a Heniz XP, because
the OS system is everything from Win 95 to XP.
I was Microsoft certified tech and IT Tech for
years; and BETA for many years ...

And the way I saw it ~ it seemed to be not
"New & Improved" but "New & more Buggier".

My Windows 98x (very rare Windows 98 model)
I still have and use, is actually far more stable
(Pentium II Processor) than my Win XP when I
originally obtained it. I got so frustrated with this
XP; hence the explanation why I self-destruct
this OS of the XP and built and modified it
"MY WAY" - it took me a very long time and hours
of work to accomplish this feat that Microsoft
themselves stated that it cannot be done; and I
did it. While this is a Celeron (Pentium V)
Processor with far more memory than my 98x,
but yet, it lags - my 98x has far more programs
(that are resource draining) and I can have them
all up and running and still be faster than my XP
or my current Heinz XP OS!

I am currently looking at motherboards where I
can install 1 Terrabyte and I have the privilege
to upgrade to processor to (not permitted to
disclose). But I'll find a way of working my way
around without being involved with BETA work.
I'm done with BETA. It's more trouble now than
it's worth.

I still do help some people's computers but
not like what I used to. Partially because there's
tons of new viruses and trojans and strains of
it coming out every day ... all the time.

Your best bet would be to subscribe to the IT
Tech news (you can select the option via email
how you would like to receive it (notification)
in the email):

http://www.cnet.com

http://www.pc.com

http://www.zdnet.com

I don't know if they charge for these services
now, but I've been a very long time subscriber
of these IT news alerts/flashes and they come
to me automatically.

They are also the safest place to download in
addition to

http://www.filehippo.com

which gives you more control of what can be
installed in your computer and giving you full reigns.
