AAACCCHHHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! (excuse me)

Tis the season to suffer from allergies...well at least for me anyway...my wife keeps telling me to take some benadryl and/or rinse my sinuses...I will eventually do that when I get congested and start to have drainage but I refuse to take any meds for it...

The little nettie tea pot is what I'll use with some kosher salt to rinse my sinuses...

On second thought I've been sneezing a lot and my throat has been itchy...maybe I'll do it now...meh

Oh yeah...be sure to stock up on Kleenex at Boogers"R"Us

I hate taking medicine. I've been sneezing, but my allergies aren't THAT bad. I may get a stuffy nose, but yes. Here. It. Comes....

I have only been over a BAD head cold for a week. I am so scared to take any meds for stuffiness and sore throats that all I use is original Halls Cough Drops. They open the passages as well as make a sore throat better, then IBU for aches and pains. I'm still using the cough drops at night only as I wake myself coughing. That's all I do for allergies that cause the stuffiness too.

Yes well you do what you must...though I use Ricola and other natural remedies...those Halls have that dreadful Aspartame in them

I had no idea they have Aspartame in them. I guess I better start looking at labels. Thanks for letting me know.

They'll sneak in as much unnecessary garbage as possible and they don't even have to write it in big print...it makes me sick...but that's not the worst part...the worst part is what they aren't telling you...and the sad thing is is that we live in a society where most people don't care what they are putting in their bodies let alone care in general...it's always an excuse...and they don't even realize that that is how they have been programmed to think/behave...like self destructive parasites...apathetic...ignorant...doomed...

You don't need religious nonsense to point out the obvious...the truth is everywhere...become immune to their Pestilence

On a more positive note I love your new avatar Penny :D (think I'm gonna change mine again)

Today's symptoms:

1. An increase in mucus/phlegm
2. Fluctuating headaches from sinus pressure/sneezing
3. Random itchiness that seems to flare up whenever it wants
4. Hearing seems to be effected...most likely from the sinus pressure/congestion

Why does spring have to be so beautiful yet so awful...I have a mask but I'm not going to wear that all day...

BREEEATHE...

One ear specialist told me that if there are no holes in the eardrum, and wax has been cleaned out of the ears, then one can drop mineral oil (or sweet olive oil) into each ear at bedtime once a week. Place a cotton ball in to prevent the oil from leaking on a pillow. I also use a towel as well.

For nasal congestion, apply a warm wet (not hot) towel over your eyes and nose. There are also products on the market filled with rice that retain the heat when microwaved.

Mucus can be aggravated by too much sugar. Menthol, Echinacea and artificial sweeteners can aggravate seizures.

Personally, I'm researching alternate methods of fighting nasal congestion and colds. I eat a lot of oranges and so far, so good. Some foods like ginger, garlic and turmeric help congestion (if you can stand the strong smell!).

Thank you for that useful bit of information alivenwell (nice name btw)...I don't think I have any holes in my eardrums...I recently went to an ENT but I'll have to double check with them before I go sticking anything in my ears...but I'm pretty sure my ears are fine...well aside from listening to/playing lots of loud music lol they have taken quite a beating...oh well (I just get so into it I'm like lost in a trance and my perceptions can become distorted...just like my music hehe...but it's not so much how loud I have my music it's more so how long I am listening to it...which can be hours on end...so I have learned to limit the amount of time I spend blasting my brain with beautiful noises :D

but anyway...I will have to try that warm wet towel thing indeed...

and yeah I know mucus can be aggravated by sugar...I only consume natural sources of sugar...fruits, dark chocolate, and yogurt...for fruits I eat bananas, tangerines, blueberries, and occasional strawberries...I only eat a small piece of dark chocolate at a time...like 1/4 a serving size...Intense Orange by Lindtt is my fav...and I eat yogurt with blueberries...yeah I know dairy products can also spawn mucus buildup...but the yogurt doesn't seem to give me any problems...I also eat it for the probiotics but don't rely entirely on that for probiotics...I rely on a quality source of probiotics we buy online...

As far as Menthol, Echinacea, and artificial sweeteners are concerned that crap doesn't come anywhere near me...especially artificial sweeteners...HELL NO!!! The only time I "consume" Menthol is when I'm sick and sucking on cough drops...which is like super rare...and Echinacea...ummm nope!...so yeah...

Research is always good (and fun)...but it's more than just research...you aren't simply reading this and that from this and that...you are on a journey to finding out what works best for you...and just because something may work for 10, 100, or even 1,000 people...it doesn't mean it will work for you...in fact...you may discover something totally new that no one has ever thought of before! It's called USING YOUR BRAIN AND THINKING FOR YOURSELF!!! Something most people don't know how to do lol

but anyway...yeah lots of Vitamin C for colds and such...I will have to try some ginger and turmeric but I just don't like the smell of garlic...makes me gag...so yeah that's out of the question lol

Sweet oil was what my Mom used on all 8 of us for earaches when I was little. We couldn't afford a dr. if not needed. It did provide relief I remember.

Today's symptoms:

SO MUCH DRAINAGE... (makes nose plug out of kleenex)

Also experiencing extreme agitation...almost threw a chair through the window and roared like a beast...

and the approaching full moon isn't helping

The Halls lozenges I get have glucose syrup, honey, sucralose & sucrose instead of aspartame.

SucraLOSE isn't as bad as ASSpartame...but it's still unnecessary garbage...

I use to buy whey protein that had SucraLOSE in it...but I stopped...the whey I buy now uses Stevia (a natural sweetener) instead and it tastes much better :) (to me anyway)

Oddly I'm not feeling as bad as yesterday...even with the full moon approaching...I must of not gotten enough sleep yesterday or something...that usually does it with me...if I don't get enough sleep I'm really moody throughout the day and I'm more susceptible to feeling like crap...

and I notice my main seizure trigger is sleep deprivation...damn mania

however...I had more energy yesterday and worked out...today not so much but less irritation...weird

My GP gave me a nasal spray that completely fixed my hay fever: epilepsy safe, side effect free and safe enough to use all year. It also doesn't give you rebound sinus like a lot of sprays do. In my country it's called Flonase but it's fluticasone propionate. You have to use it twice a day for a month before it starts working, and then you use it once a day throughout the year.

I tried using that before but I think I quit because I hate spraying crap up my nose...the pressure from the spray burns and gives me a headache for some reason...I've had sinus surgery in the past I wonder if that has anything to do with it...

but anyway it's my bed time now...so yeah...goodnight

If I didn't go to an allergist my allergise would really be winning.
I take a lot of meds for my allergise. I take Alegra1xday Dymista which is (flonase and Astilen together) spray up nose twice a day and I take Vantolin which is spray in mouth twice a day.

I always have my albuterol with me.My allergise bother me year round.
