I used to get panic attacks fairly often, although comparatively mild ones to what you guys are describing, but they still made me dizzy and made me pant for a prolonged period of time (once up to 30 minutes of painting and faintness), but I never passed out.

The psych I was seeing at the time explained to me that passing out and hyperventilating to the point of passing out during a panic attack is unusual

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, it just doesn't happen often. And chances are the disordered breathing will lead to another panic attack instead of passing out. Been there a few times.
