| At my appt. Thru. (new Neur.) she is slowly puting me on topiramate and at some point will be decreasing my dilantin. when I asked if her is she thought I needed a psychiatrist, she did say yes, and I do have the names and plan on going. However I am not willing to come off it at this point. I don't the long term affect of using Klonopin-I had better start looking into this. I saying this since just finding from this neur. about the Dilantin. Since I have been on klonopin my seizures are not as severe as they used to be, they don't come as often, and they don't last as long. So why would I want to come off. I am already addicted. Now if I have had a choice to begin with. I would have chose not to be on an addicted drug. It was my FP that put on this for insomnia. And Oh yes that does make me mad. but like you said what good is that going to do now. I've not wanted Dr's. to take me off dilantin, after the miss I was in with the Keppra-- I thought don't miss with something that is working. Well, dilantin did work for me for many years. But now after 40 years, it is possible there is some brain damage, this is the reason for some of my walking problems, writing and communicating to others. I have tryed a diff. times decreasing my klonopin. I just can't live that way. I apologies for going from one subject to the next, then back, then back jet again. I'm trying to fix this about me. |

YES this is addictive. I didn't know that it was. I was 1st. given this for sleep by my FP. Then the Neur. I was seeing at the time increased my dose to 1/2 tablet every 4 hours. He said he didn't want to add another medic. That made sense to me. So here I am. I can said that it has helped with my seizures. Get all the information you can before going to your dr. and talk this over with him. |

| hi-ya! I'm on clonazepam. When I asked my GP about it being addictive and hard to come off of, I was informed that I would probably be on the drug for life. I'm 50 so I don't mind. I'm on pills for my heart for life so one gets use to it. I do like clonazepam; it make me fall over so I take them once in bed and I try not to get up in the night. Day time I take things slowly so not to fall. Clonazepam helps with my anxiety so I am pleased this.

| My thinking when I 1st. found how that is was addictive, was so what. I have not that much luck with other medic. and I'm going to be on anti-seizure medic. for rest of my life anyway. I am finding out that Dr. don't want me on this, and yes I can understand their point, if I wasn't already addicted. I'm 59 years old, and my seizures have never been under control as much as they are now. If is working and I willing to live with the side effects. WHY take me off. |
