| Randy, I hope your aura moves on soon. When you get the smell of stale cigs, do you do anything in response? Sometimes it can help to "sidetrack" your olfactory nerves with some other strong smell, like mint or orange. Oddly enough, Dilantin causes peripheral neuropathy after long-term use, but it's also used to treat it when it shows up as a side effect from other causes. Does your neurologist think the balance issues come from the neuropathy, or are they direct side effect from overmedication? When I was on Dilantin, they ahd me on way too much, and my gait was all over the place. Backing off on the dose helped. |

| Nakamova, Yes I have tried to "sidetrack" the smell of stale cigs. with different types of strong air fresheners but that makes it even worse. As for the neuropathy, I guess I'll just have to live with it. As for the balance issues ~ myself as well as the neurologist have come to realize that it is from the meds, it gets better if I cut back on the meds but then my seizure activity increases. Thanx for your reply. Randy
