Are you peaking in my windows? This is my husband too (and he does do the dishes, but lets them pile up).
I have TAR Syndrome (I am missing my radius bones, and the ulna bones are about 1/3 the normal size of an adult). So I need help putting dishes away. I BEG him, if you put them away, I will do them. I have no problem doing them, but you have to put them away (I can't reach the cupboards and I am terrified of a stool).
Same for the washer. I keep hoping he gets a job, so we can buy a front loader. And then I can do all of the laundry and not beg for help because it stinks.

I have my kids pick up their toys, which helps a lot. I put a new rule into place this week... toys will go in time out (and can {never have} be thrown out). Let me tell you.... toys get picked up so quick. And if not, both child and toys go into time out for an undetermined amount of time (toys longer than kids).

The kids know I need help. I wish my husband would understand how it affects me mentally and physically.
My oldest boy learned how to do dishes and laundry by 9 (started when he was 5, but slowly taught him more/let him do more {He is going to be an awesome husband some day LOL}. I am now starting with the younger two.
I have an Aunt I call my Aunt from H-E-Double Hockey sticks who thinks I was/am mean, having the kids help. (there is more than one reason I call her that) I don't think it's a bad idea at all (and we all wonder why her son is a lazy piece of.... )

But its time I put my foot down and show him I cant do all of this and be able to take care of myself. Ive put myself on the last burner and the result is having seizures. Not what I wanted to happen at all! So its time to put some of the resposibilities on his plate, and also show the kids its time they help out with the age appropriate duties around the house too. I grew up picking up after myself, helping clean, etc. Im no way going to let these kids think Im a maid around here and they dont have to do anything!

Thanks RachelinAZ! Im doing good today! Today we celebrate our son's 7th birthday and I actually got out to have some fun today while the kids were in school! I took our youngest out with me to go to some garage sales (We found alot of goodies!) and then met up with my aunt to go to a few more. At least it got me out of the house and I got to be around an adult! LOL

Yeah, it seems to me like we both have the same type of husbands! I hate dealing with everything around this house. The only thing my husband is good at doing, is maintance on vehicles, and the outside projects around the house. But when it comes to the inside duties, lets say it takes repeating myself many times, and begging him to do something!

I have those kind of family memebers too..... most of them are supportive, but at this time, I have a few "kinks" with my sisters, and father. Im the oldest of three girls in my family... my two younger sisters are 28 and 18 years old. They both are mad at me and are against me for different reasons. I was watching my niece, the daughter of my sister who is 28, for the months of October through March. I got tired of her not showing any appreciation to me, and always calling only when she needed me to watch her child. I love her, my nieces, and all... but there comes a point in time where you can expect people in your life to drop their things in their life for her. I finally had to put my foot down and tell her til she can change her ways, i cant no longer watch her child. She in return, thinks our mom told me to not watch her child for her no longer. Both my sister lives with our parents and its getting crazy there! Alot of tension! My youngest sister is siding with my other sister. Its all so darn complicated. But Im for sure not going to let this stressful situation get to me. I have a life of my own and they can deal with their own problems themselves.

I need to lay down some good rules for my own kids too! They do mind me, at times... but I need to be for "firm" with them. They think they can get away with alot of things, especially with my husband. So alot of things are going to have to change, especially with the summer quickly approaching!

Hang in there! I know its tough, but at least we can vent to each other!

P.S. I got your PM... Im getting to that right now!
