Boyfriends, Girlfriends & Friends with Epilepsy.

Hey, I was just curious as to all the people out there in my position as a girlfriend to someone with epilepsy. It's tough to watch him go through this and not be able to help sometimes. But I've learned that my presense with him, helps a lot, it cheers him up. I'm hoping to one day write about my experiences with him, so I can help others in my position. I just want to know that there are others in the position I am, who sometimes feel the pressure and stress.

Much love & hope
Bri

My wife has epilepsy, I don't. I've ridden the rollercoaster as a passenger for over a decade now.

Hello Bri Christine I'm sure there's loads of people on here who don't have epilepsy themselves but support people in their family or friends who do.

Stick around a while

Myself, my Twin sister and my best friend- we all have epilepsy. Together we have complex partial, grand-mal, atonic, and absence seizures so we see it all! It is of course, hard to see your twin or best friend have a seizure infront of you and you can't do anything but make sure they are safe. They do the same for me too- i can be stressful not knowing when a seizure will hit- thankfully I have auras, so does my twin. My best friend does not- so she could start having a seizure at anytime without notice- which is scary. When she had Atonics- she scrapes up her knees and elbows till they bleed. Makes me sad- But I know, all of us together will be a great support team.

-Take care.

I am a single parent with epilepsy, but am also in the position of riding the roller coaster as a passenger as my 11 yr old daughter also has E. It's awful seeing someone you love going through this, and also in my case there's the guilt that I've passed it on to her. I wasn't diagnosed until after I had had my 3 kids, and now I have to watch her have seizures and try to be there for her. (((((HUGS))))) to you.
