Clobazam question?

So my neurologist out me on Clobazam so the Lamotrigine would enter my system quicker. He has been away for 2 weeks and the neurology department are a bit silly at my hospital and won't even let me ask a neurologist about medication. Now as it is a Sunday my dr is closed, so I can't ask them anything.

I wasn't sure when to stop taking Clobazam and because it says on the box not to stop taking them until advised to do so, me and my mum and boyfriend came up with the joint decision to continue taking it until we see the neurologist on Thursday. We made this decision last night, and the whole of yesterday I realised I hadn't taken the Clobazam. It is unlike me to forget, but we had some other stresses and everyone was a bit all over the place yesterday as we were nearly conned out of £400 (eek)

This morning I woke up with massive headache and was very shaky, and I know that you can get withdrawl symptoms because it is highly addictive. I took the Clobazam with my Lamotrigine this morning as usual. But the questions I want to ask are 1) Do you have to e weaned off of Clobazam? 2) Are these symptoms normal? Bless him, my boyfriend is all worried :') he has dealt with it well which is great :')

It is usually a good idea to use Clobazam as sparingly as possible, and to wean off of it very slowly in small increments. When you use it, it produces GABA for the brain (GABA inhibits over-firing of the neurotransmitters). But in response, the brain lowers its own production of GABA. So when you stop using Clobazam (especially abruptly), the brain is suddenly caught with a shortfall of GABA, and withdrawal side effects can kick in. I suspect that your headache and shakiness were related to the missed dose. Here's hoping that when you see the neuro this week he can give you a dosing plan for a slow taper.

I am feeling so much better trying not to be stressed because I have college tomorrow but yesterday was a seizure free day! Woop! Started up a bit of yoga in my house to relax abut because I have noticed I get more when I am stressed or worried
