Yup all those things and more. Take it at the same time everyday. Eat well, drink lots of water, minimize stress. It takes a while to adjust to it.

My side effects kinda very with those things I already mentioned. They get worse when I am tired. Some folks don't have any side effects. Maybe it's time to try another med or Dr.

This is my third week on it and had to go to my dr and have them lower the dosage...I. Can handle it better now and we will try to increase it with time. cognitively, i was having issues. When I opened the fridge to choose between oj and milk, I had a hard time knowing the difference. I would forget I was baking, I would run into walls, if I even attempted to have a glass of wine, I was drunk after a sip.

So, yeah!

4 1/2 years. I can't believe it's been that long. I had to look it up. I've learned to deal with the side effects. I keep notes on everything. I love my iPhone and iPad. I used to have a hard time keeping my train of thought when having a conversation, but that passed. I make lists and reminders for everything.

Wow, that is a longtime to have side effects! I was told they should balance out...Jeez. It has been better since I have been taking 500 mg in am and 750 in pm. Yes, I too keep notes on my iPad. I have Been trying to use the diary app from elipepsy .com but I don't like the meds part of it...it doesn't let me rig it.

If you aren't having seizures than I guess it is worth it, right?

Thanks

I've been on Keppra for about four years. At first I had no problems at all, but the last two years or so I've had problems with concentration, multi-tasking, and word finding. Not sure if it's the Keppra or my underlying condition. I sometimes wonder if it's worth it, but when I think about trying to get off it, I chicken out.

I have a hell of a time with names of people I don't know really well. I also have a hard time finding words during conversations. I dunno if it is the Keppra or damage from seizures.
You don't like my pic?

Good for you...I am new to the whole “labeled epileptic” and the meds but I do my homework, know my body, and am annoying to my neurologist. It seems he hired a Nurse practitioner to deal with people like me… But I am going to OHSU in Portland to talk to a specialist in just epilepsy.
So, yes, you should talk to your neurologist and tell him your issues. My lower dose seems to be better but you may need to change? Have you tried lamictal? Apparently, it is the cat’s meow! It made my hair fall out and gave me acne, however. I mean, damn, a girl needs to be pretty.
Yes, I like your profile picture! It just reminds me of some whimsical hobbit in a never never land.

CrazyChick, I did complain about the NP but...it is better for everyone. I think of it as my own personal assistant that consults with the Dr. I have a direct number and when i have an issue, i get a call back shortly after. But really, I am high maintenance and direct and the keppra influnces that too.

Travel bug, That is strange that you would have issues all of the sudden...if it were me, I would try to find out what they could be from. Call your Dr?

Actually some people do suddenly get side-effects from medications they've been on for a long time for no apparent reason.
