Could this have been...

Tonight while eating dinner I was almost...trapped...in thought, dropped my fork, and started jerking....but it wasnt like the other seizures. I didn't make noises, I was able to hear and see...but couldn't respond. After about 35-40 seconds of jerking, and 6 or 7 mins of confusion my boyfriend actually accused me of faking a seizure. I'm so hurt and confused. It didn't feel like the other seizure but I did have an aura before it happened... Is this something worth mentioning to my neurologist? Does this even sound like a seizure, or maybe just jerking? The only thing I know for sure is I wasn't faking it....

It definitely sounds like something worth mentioning to your neurologist.

In my humble opinion, I believe that if you're not sure if you should tell your doctor/neurologist something then it's better to tell them & find out it's irrelevant than not to tell them & find out that you should have.

It sounds like a simple partial seizure. Youre fully aware of whats going on when the seizure is taking place. I have auras before the I get stiffening and jerking of my right side on my body. They usually last a minute or two. Afterwords I am really weak, and tired. I feel like Im going in slow motion. I also get a headache and sometimes feel a bit confused afterwords.

I would def mention this to your dr.

That does sound like a simple partial seizure to me - absolutely. I am actually annoyed and frustrated for you though that your boyfriend made such an accusation - I hope he apologised.

Thank you all for repsonding, to tell the truth I've never felt so alone! I'm very newly diagnosed, so I'm trying to be understanding... but right now I'm confused and still a little hurt

Yes, well as I see it he needs to be more understanding as well. I'm sure that it's probably just misguided ignorance speaking but I hope for your sake he can give you a genuine apology and man up. If he could come along to one of your doctor visits or if you could give him some information about epilepsy or perhaps a support group for family/friends if there is one around maybe it would help.
Also, you are not alone - you have us!
