Diethylstilbestrol - aka DES

I received an interesting email from a Professor,
as many knows that I'm adopted and not much
is known except lab work and the limited back-
ground history but he found this to be interesting:

Diethylstilbestrol, which is known as DES, was used
for many years in women to prevent miscarriages.
While it's been discontinued, my colleague made
mention of this subject which struck an interest as
I remembered it well. I began to do some research
on DES; and out of interest I am only finding that
third generation children are suffering. It might
have been possible that your maternal mother's
mother had DES if my calculations add up properly,
which would line up accordingly. One of the first
line effects of the third generation effects is
neurological. I am not currently able to obtain much
further research as not much is known or available
in reference to DES third generation children. If
you wish, you can even look it up in Wiki and it is
there and makes reference to the third line
generation of DES children.

NOW that is an interesting finding! Now I'm going
to be doing some researching myself. And I did look
up on wikipedia and indeed it is there.

This is very interesting. I'm going to ask my mother tomorrow and my mother in law if any of them have ever taken this medication. I will freak out if they say yes. I never in my life heard anything about Diethylstilbestrol. Who manufacturers it?

Third generation

Current research also looks at DES third generation. Third generation refers to the offspring of DES sons and daughters. There is not yet much information available, because the third generation is not old enough to fully manifest possible physiological effects of inherited DES exposure.

Third generation injuries are associated with preterm labor or deliveries resulting in premature birth and cerebral palsy, blindness or other neurological deficits or death of a child.

I spoke with my MIL and she told me she never took anything except prenatal vitamins. I asked my mom, but forgot the name of the med.
I did start my son today on the GARD diet. What an expense it all was, but I can't put a price on his health. I made some blueberry muffins and they were delicious.

WHILE TRUE may not help with SEIZURE DISORDER

I think I questioned this once and was told no by my mother. Yet perhaps it didn't have to be taken during the time she was pregnant with me. Thinking maybe it might just be active in the system.

DES was given all the way back to 1938!
So your mother's mother could have taken
it! And it could be passed on and on, and
while CANCER remains the top problematic
issue - other issues remains on top of it
as well.
