Wink Dilantin:Teaching us that gravity still works

Now that I have been back on the dilantin path for 2 months, many of the old side effects are making a debut too. Unsteady gait and clumsiness are sometimes problematic but today was a learning experience.

I have a fear of falling, I mean a real fear. Aside from being a big, fat, old woman, both my knees are prosthetic joints making it very difficult to get up and down from the floor.

Well, today I had a refresher course in physics. Gravity works. Or in other words, the earth sucks. Got my feet tangled up on a jacket sleeve hanging off the bed and down I went. Landed on my right arm hurting my ankle, hip and upper arm. Nothing broke but my whole upper arm is the loveliest shades of purples and blues. This is the side I sleep on so it's gonna be fun tonight.

When I was on Dilantin, the unsteady gait and clumsiness meant I was on too much. Any chance you could back off the dose slightly?

Thanks for the well wishes. Boy am I stiff and sore. The bruising is quite lovely and my arm is swollen. I'm just going to take it easy today, I was more worried about breaking my new glasses than breaking a bone.

My dilantin levels are fine, saw my neurologist in the morning before it happened. He says things are great just have to find a place who will do an MRI of my brain with the VNS electrodes still attached to the vagus nerve. So many of them refuse.
