| Does she see single again when she covers one eye? I get double vision sometimes from Lamictal, and if I cover one eye I can see normal (just without normal depth perception, of course). This may help her while she studies until it goes back to normal. She can wear an eye patch... or tie a bandana over one eye like I did the first time it happened. lol. |

| Is your daughter on anti-seizure medication? If so, then it might be the cause, and worth talking about with her neurologist. It could mean that the dose is too high and needs adjusting. |

| If wears glasses/contacts it might also be a new perscription. I lost my glasses and just found them this morning. The difference is freaky and I was so dizzy that I'm back to wearing the old pair. Last edited by JillT; 05-23-2012 at 08:51 AM. |

Thanks!
She says her headache intensifies with an eye patch. Currently using a magnifying glass, as the eye doctor says that he wants to see if it dissipates prior to prescribing glasses. Tom |

Thanks for your input.
She is on 500 mg of Keppra twice a day. This problem surfaced after the first seizure and prior to the meds. I'll call the doctor. Thanks, Tom |

| when she has the diplopia do you notice a squint? might be linked to an eye muscle spasm / some other neurological deficit ( unlikely) Keppra has been linked to diplopia in some patients but it is fairly rare side effect in adults ( how old is your daughter? kids are more likely to have drug induced vision issues like diplopia and amblyopia) some studies have shown up to 2% of kids on keppra have had to reduce their dosage / stop due to visual defects, though figures vary. If there is no other cause of diplopia , you may have to get the dosage reduced/ drug changed but remember that diplopia, dizziness and gait disturbances are much more common with sodium channel drugs like phenytoin, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine and lamotrigine.

| She's 16 and has had a vision problem and headache since the first grand mal seizure on May 1. The second grand mal was on May 7 and the third at 2:00 AM the morning of May 13. She started on 250 mg twice a day and after 4 days upped to 500 mg twice a day. No seizures, for 10 + days but still has vision problem and headache. |
