Diet sodas are a double-whammy -- the aspartame stimulates the brain, and the phosphorus in them interferes with magnesium absorption. (Magnesium helps protect the brain from aspartame.
Phosphorus in amounts found in foods, including soda, does not likely significantly affect magnesium absorption. I don't know about the eventual effect of soda on seizures, though.
