Does this happen to anyone else?Today I had a seizure. It was bigger than normal but I'm still feeling the post-ictal effects. I feel overtired, my attention span is down to zero, I can't concnetrate on anything & I could have gone to sleep right after the seizure at 12:45 PM but struggled through the day as thngs have got to get done. I'm sure those symptoms sounds familiar to a lot of you but now I can't sleep. I've been in bed for a couple of hours now wishing I could sleep so that I don't have to feel this awful but can't. Of course the frustration of not being able to sleep just causes a vicious cycle so I"m probably going to try meditating after posting this but does this happen to anyone else? If so has anyone found a way of dealing with it?

| Rebecca almost always sleeps after a seizure. Sometimes just a short nap as she wants to resume her day at school. I have not witnessed a problem with sleeping at night, however she gets up at 5 am most days. |

| Thanks guys, there were some pretty good suggestions on the link of the other thread. Actually I fell right asleep after posting my message. Maybe all I needed to do was vent a bit. I find my insomnia is almost always due to not being able to stop my brain from thinking. That's why I usually try meditation, it deals with controling thought. I've also noticed that if I do somthing too relaxing when I'm not stressed (like a hot bath to candlelight & soft music) my mind will start to become overactive & I won't be able to sleep.

| Another thing to think about.. I have read on another Yahoo group list, that taking B Vitamins at bed time is not a good idea. Also, taking a epsom salt bath can relax the muscles, which will help you sleep. Just do not take a bath if you are alone in the house. Too great a risk if you are currently having seizures. |

...when it does I try music to break the spell. Genrerally, since I'm TRYING to go to sleep...it can't be anything interesting...it has to be music that absolutely has no surprises in it Good Luck...zzzzzzzzzz Spencer |
