Yes, the method sounds quite parodoxical: right before seizure onset, when you feel something like aura you should inrease your GSR, i.e. to heighten stress (sweaty palms!). Sure, during other periods of your life you can practice traditional relaxation (dry palms), but, to cope with seizures you should train your skill to increase GSR(sweaty palms) in the right moments (before seizures). Sounds incredible? Yes, but epilepsy itself is quite complex phenomenon. Best regards! PS: it's not coincidence, it's a correlation. Last edited by bedolaga; 12-18-2007 at 09:45 PM. |

| This sounds very counter-intuitive to me. So perhaps I should learn how to deliberately increase GSR in preparation for those difficult periods. I have had the sense that it is helpful to learn to do that to increase one's control over neurological activities. I'd feel a little better about that if I saw more research which specifically indicates that. One thing I might mention: When attempting to decrease GSR, one cannot "try" to do it, one has to "not try" or "un-try". So increasing GSR would be done by "trying". |

| Just came across this site hosted by EEG Institute: http://eeginfo.com/exchange/list/12 Used equipment is put up for sale. Seems one would need some background in the use of it before purchasing it though.
