GABA supplements

Does anyone know if these are effective with seizures or auras or anything of that nature? I saw some at the local herb shop (500 mg capsules I believe) and was curious about buying them. Trust me, I've researched the amino acid of GABA, but I was just afraid of taking a supplement because if I suddenly stopped I fear it could throw me into a seizure. Any suggestions? My neurologist has no idea :/
