Had a seizure that started on the other side of my brain

My seizures always, ALWAYS, start on the right side and sometimes I can feel them move over to the left. Today I was waking up and lying in bed and it started on the other side. I don't lose concsiousness so I can always feel them until they're over.

Should I call my neurologist or is this a common thing?

I don't think it is anything to worry about, generally seizures have the same pattern but can differ from the norm on occasion.

I read your message and forgot to reply. I'm sorry.

I've started having several seizures a day. I'm going to the neurologist tomorrow. Wish me luck.

How did

your appointment go, Stephanie? What did the neurologist have to say?

Thank you for asking.

I saw the nurse practicioner and she upped my Lamictal to 800 mg. I never knew what kind of seizures I had as the neurologist wouldn't ever give me a straight answer, so I asked her. She said the chart says complex partials w/ secondary generaliziaton. It's nice to know something. She also said it's common for seizures to start at different parts of the brain.

She told me to give it 4 weeks and see if it helps.

I was just going to say that they were probably 'generalizing' (spreading to other parts of your brain). That's what I have...generalized seizure disorder, independent (affecting both sides of my brain), multiple types.
