My really thin spot is in back - the back crown of the head. I cover it up using hair styling. I use a lot of hair products to arrange a "donald trump comb-over" in back. It doesn't look too bad. The problem is that because it's in back, if it moves or undoes itself during the day I don't know it. So I use lots of hairspray. It's thin all over, too, so I use the big body mousse and curl my hair to make it look like I have more hair. Illusion of volume.

I'm hoping I'll hold steady at this amount of hair or that it gets better. I just decreased my dosage of Lamictal. I'm hoping that'll help.

i stopped taking taking lamictal/lamotrogine years ago because it was making my hair fall out and also making me vomit a few times each morning.

^not a good idea to stop your meds unless you see a doctor first!

ive been taking Pregabalin/Lyrica for about six weeks and i havent noticed any side effects at all apart from wanting to sleep all the time.

Red face

I use alot of hairspray too. I just weaned myself off of Zoloft and I feel alot better. My hair has gotten thinner. When I dye my own hair it seems to make it look thicker. I use Medium to dark Auburn.

I already take alot of B vitamins.
Do you think its the Keppra making my hair thinner??

I think its the Keppra that made my hair thinner. I keep buying all kinds of shampoos and I take Biotin nothing helps of course the Dr dismisses this idea to the effect I have to put up with it to medicate my simple partial nocturnal seizures.

well the doctor actually agreed with me today that theres a few ppl suffering from hair loss because of keppra. the doctor kept telling me it was stress shows you they are not always right. i wonder if i stop taking my meds the seizures might stop but i dont know.

Don't stop taking your meds cold turkey. If you want to try going off them:

1. Tell your doctor what you are going to do -- you don't need his approval, but you do need to keep him in the loop.
2. Go very very slowly -- taper down in as small an increment as you can, and stay at that increment for at least 2 weeks (longer is better) to see how you feel. Take notes on if you are feeling better, hair loss is slowing, etc. I know you are anxious to be free of the Keppra and feel better, but going slowly minimizes the risk for withdrawal seizures or side effects.

crazy chick: How much Keppra are you taking? Im taking 1500. Ive even gone to the hairdresser to fix my hair and after they do my hair its looks even thinner! I dunno maybe its because they put all kinds of conditioner, fancy shampoo, moouse and hairspray. I think its the Keppra doing it.

Angry

crazychk What kind of seizures do you have?

I cant get in to see the Dr for 6 weeks. Maybe Ill see if he can lower my dosage. I have asked him if I could go off of it completely and he said NO.

The only other thing other than dyeing my hair to make it look thicker is to only wash my hair twice a week. I find the more I wash my hair the thinner it looks,

Whenever I complain about side effects of my meds my Dr usually blames it in stress!

I only get seizures in my sleep. Never during the day. And they are only simple partials I don't know why the Dr has me on so much Keppra 1500mg. I think Doctors treat female patients different than male patients. The females are more likely to be viewed as crazy or stressed. It seems like some doctors take the mens concerns of side effects more seriously. And they are less likely to be labeled as crazy or stressed. Of course that is just my opinion.
