Having more breakthroughs

Hi all

I have been having more breakthroughs lately. 2 to 3 a week. The odd part is I am really reluctant to call my doc and get my meds bumped up again. I have really been trying everything to prevent them through lifestyle. Careful of what I am eating and when. Making sure I get enough sleep. Trying to reduce stress.

I can definately link my seizzures to stress now. The problem is they are being triggered by relatively normal levels of stress. I guess its not reasonable to expect to remove all stress from life.

I think Im just getting discouraged and thats what is keeping me from calling my doc.

Any thoughts on what else I can do?

Can you practice meditation a few times a day? Sort of as a pre-emptive attack? It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just five minutes where you step back from what you're doing and focus on your breathing, maybe while visualizing having a healthy brain.

Another possibility is that your sleep is more restless than you know. Short of having a sleep study done, you could try relaxation CDs before you go to sleep (like the Delta Sleep system), or try a Zeo if you can afford it.

I know alot of my seizures are brought on by stress. It seems that I'll have many more during the holidays than any other time of the year. Making sure every thing gets ready in time and having enough money to do it is just crazy. This has happened to me every year.

It seems too that even during the year anytime there is something stressful I'm almost guarenteed to have one.
