Help my tongue!!!

Okay after a 3rd grand mal and biting my tongue yet again I need help. What are the best ways that you or someone you know has actually used to help heal the tongue? I for the life of me cannot find anything that helps speed the healing process.

When my wife chomped the side of her tongue hard enough to cut it, she had a "flap" that took over 3 months to heal. She tried all sorts of things to help it along, but honestly, I think it's just one of those things that have to process in their own time.

I don't often bite my tongue anymore, but when I used to, I would use about 1:3 hydrogen peroxide to water swished around in my mouth. More is I could stand to. It really hurts. Also I would avoid bread, it looks like it should be easy to eat because it's soft. It always got stuck in my tongue.

Another idea

is a good stiff salt water rinse. You know, like when you gargle when you're sick. OK, it hurts like the bejeezers, but it's always seemed to help mine...... that and the peroxide trick. I usuallly alternate the both of them.
