I just had my first seizure, please help.

I'm a 18 year old male, I don't think it was a severe one... but I'm really scared, before the seizure I had'nt slept much, I had stayed up all night with minor sleep for two days, then I went out with my friends and walked around,
I finally slept after I got back from hanging out with my friends, I woke up at 5 am... at around 11:30 I was pathing my eye, due to "lazy eye" basically my right eye is stronger than my left, and I cover the stronger eyes to make the weaker eye stronger, so maybe me using my bad eye WHILE PLAYING VIDEO GAMES caused it? Anyway, while patching my strong eye I was playing a video game, then suddenly everything started moving really fast, my thoughts as well, I had... a racing feeling in my head, and things seem to move faster for about 15 minutes, I got a bad headache, and uneasy feeling, fear, then I got SOOOO tired, then I went to sleep and slept for 12 hours, I've just woken up recently... and while I still feel okay... I have a headache, still feel tired and exausted, out of it, some of my muscles feel tense, and I've had some minor little muscle jumps or spasams... and I'm scared, I know the thing itself wasn't major and I'm probably just having after effects, but what should I do to recover? Go nap maybe? I am still tired... do you all think it was even a seizure based on what I described? PLEASE HELP.

Well, it definitely sounds like a strange event, but 15 mins would be an awful long time for a seizure to be happening. Perhaps you should book in with your doctor and see if anything can be done to find out what went on. Have you experienced anything like this before?

That video game you were playing may have been the real culprit...

Never before, not once, unless it was from when I was too young to remember. And it wasn't really 15 minutes... just the after effects, maybe 4-5,after that I was just really tired.

Let me read through these, I was playing with my bad eye and at a loss of sleep too, so maybe I just overdid it.

Did you look at the clock to know that the "seizure" was about 4 or 5 minutes or was that your guess?

I only ask because it is common to lose a sense of time during a seizure. When I was younger I thought my seizures were about an hour long-they were about 45 seconds.

After sleeping for 12 hours it's not unusual to still feel sleepy. You may be dehydrated and hungry, which could contribute to a headache and fatigue. The best way to recover and to protect your brain is to be proactive about your overall health: Get plenty of sleep, make sure you are hydrating and eating balanced meals at regular times (skipping meals or getting dehydrated can make the brain unhappy), avoid alcohol and strong stimulants and any known allergens.

It's possible your episode was a a form of migraine and/or a one-time event -- consider it a warning sign, and talk to your doctor. And if you continue to have symptoms and they start to escalate, go to the ER to get checked out.

I absolutely did not look at a clock while it was happening, so all I know is that it ended at about 1 pm. Because right near the end I got an instant message... and I honestly thought it was earlier, so it's just my guess, I'm actually not sure at all

I would also make sure you are eating healthy and hydrating enough.

Welcome to the forum!

If you are concerned a good first step is to see a neurologist. Your family doctor will probably need to refer you. What you experienced could be a seizure, migraine, or sleep disorder. It's hard for us amateurs to tell the difference. A good neurologist can help sort through it all. Do you have health insurance? (That helps)
