I seem to be in good company

I rarely have nocturnal seizures but they do happen. Last night not only did i have seizures, I had 7 in 4 hours. Usually they're relatively small partials but last night I remember being woken by a seizure & not being able to move, especially in my legs. Finally when I was able to relax when suddenly my whole body gave a big jerk as though a huge charge of electricity coursed through me (I guess in fact it did). That was the 1st of my 7 seizures. All the rest were smaller but I really got no sleep after that & I feel pretty spaced out & confused.

I was going to see if anyone else has something similar happen when suddenly the seizures will be different than what's normal but after reading all the posts it seems like there's a lot of people having unusual things happening with their condition.

This is darn freaky.... does anyone know where the moon is in it's phase sequence?
Is everyone taking a generic these days? More sunspots recently?

Hope you are feeling better today. Grab a nap if you can.
Rebecca had spasms in her legs this week, and I gave her ionic magnesium and some Emergen C for the electrolytes. It seemed to calm the legs and allow her to sleep.
Magnesium helps with muscle relaxation.

Thanks Robin

I was just about to have something to eat before napping but I think I'll have some emergenC with that-good idea.

The emergenC is right on my kitchen counter in front of me but it seems it's when I need it the most that I don't think to take it lol.

At midnight I couldnt' think of giving Rebecca anything else. I knew that Ativan was my last choice. I came to do a Google search and some where I read that it could be a electrolyte imbalance... so I gave it a go. Figured it wasn't ... unhealthy.

Robin's right

Freaky is an understatement. Even I was having problems yesterday. I couldn't speak worth a darn.......every other word that came out of my mouth was backwards, and I was calling people the wrong names.........it was NOT cool, especially since I was at work for the whole bloomin' day.......

And in answer to your question RobinN, the full moon was a week ago today.

Eric, are you feeling better now? 7 seizures in 4 hours is a bit much........ no matter what kind they are. Please make sure you call your doctor.....

Take care,

Meetz

I am feeling a bit better now, thanks meetz. I had something to eat with the emergenC & I think that helped. I did notice that I've been craving nothing but bread & carbs. Usually I like eggs & foods high in protein. I'm still pretty tired mentally & maybe a bit confused, I'd be happy to watch mindless TV (nothing with too much action or thought) for the rest of the day. I've got to say that I'm much less moody now. My emotions aren't running rampant like they were. I will call my neurologist tomorrow. Very good advice-thanks. I should probably make an appointment with the osteopath (it's like a chiropractor but works with the whole body). I was trying to figure out why my neck & rib feel like they're out & I finally recalled that big jerk during the seizure- I'm still glad I didn't hit my head on the headboard.

I don't know about the full moon but I've noticed that whenever I've lived on the island or coast my seizures are the most unpredictable/worse when the weather is rainy like it was today. Has anyone else noticed a "coincidence" between seizures & weather?

{{{Eric}}}

Maybe it's related to hurricane Fay moving it's way northward.

Thanks Bernard.

I'll maybe I should add the weather station to my bookmarks of medical sites.

I know my legs were twitching at least twice last night. It seems a lot of the time when my seizures are acting strange I'll have days when I'm too tired to barely think (like yesterday) then finally when it's bed time I get insomnia (like last night). Whenever I would start to fall asleep it would almost feel like an aura but very, very lightly. Just enough that I wouldn't sleep. I was getting to the point that I was actually hoping for a seizure to start so that it would be done & over with.

I still feel very "off" today. Seizures feel very light -kindling I guess. The only word I can think of to describe how I feel is "uncentered", like everything is off.
