Talking I Survived!!!!

I went to the dentist today, and instead of 2 ROOT CANALS, I ended up with 2 TEETH PULLED & 1 TEMPORARY CROWN!!!! I'm soooooooooo EXCITED!!! I didn't bop the guy in the face, try to strangle him, or anything, either!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

(ya gotta understand, the last time I went to a dentist, he DIDN'T LISTEN TO ME, and I ended up walking out in the middle of a root canal---AFTER still FEELING EVERYTHING with TWELVE, yes, you read that RIGHT, 12, shots of NOVOCAINE, cuz my neurologist won't allow me to go under since my seizures happen in my SLEEP)

YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'M SO HAPPY I'M SO HAPPY I'M SO HAPPY.......................

I have been reading about dental work lately. I usually do what the dentist suggests as I have had no other reference. Now I wonder if that has been a good idea.

I have been so nervous to take Rebecca to the dentist. Her wisdom teeth are coming in, and I just don't know whether or not they should come out. Her teeth are crooked, and I know something would need to come out if we do orthodontia. It is all a mystery.

I am thrilled that you got what you wanted. I guess keeping them healthy is the best route to take.

Sorry, Brain, no pics

What a hoot. Boy, I can't WAIT for the pain to go away, either! Labor was more comfortable.........my face is swollen..........EWWWWWWWWWW, but no bruising at least. I can still talk, as long as I don't move my mouth a whole lot........Hehehehe. What a hoot. It's the lower tooth that's causing the problems right now.

RobinN--make sure you talk to the neurologist before you do any of Rebecca's dental work. I had my 4 wisdom teeth out when I was 16, with LOCALS only. Let me tell you, that was a JOY---NOT. But, it was done. It's also part of the reason why I don't like going to the dentist to this day. This new dentist of mine would NOT open my mouth to do ANYTHING until he did a medical consult with my doctors.

I like your new Dentist. Be a doctor first should be their motto.

Remember, this is a good pain - IT WILL GO AWAY!!!

My wife has been going through similar treatment this spring. Now we have also found out she has a bulging disc between C2 and C3 (high in the neck). It seems like once her surgery last December cleared up those issues, all these other issues keep popping up to the surface. I wonder how many of these were covered up by all the pain and discomfort she was having from her cysts and fibroids before surgery.

Robin - shop around for a good orthodontist. Two of our girls had work done as teenagers. One turned out great, the other was horrible and she still has bad teeth. Shop, shop, shop!!

Hi Meetz! Glad to hear the good news about the trip to the dentist. I have to go with my hubby to the dentist. He punched the last dentist he went to. So now we have a female dentist. (He won't punch a woman...)

Robinn, I had all 4 of my wisom teeth pulled after only having novocaine in one visit to the dentist. So it is possible to make it through. My mother was always dead set against me having braces. She said it would change the tone of my voice. At that time, I was really into choir and was taking private voice lessons. I had been asked to audition with an opera company. So I didn't get the braces. Instead, the dentist pulled one tooth ( my right canine) and allowed the teeth to move and straighten on their own. It takes longer, but it does work.
