Smile jason's eeg

hello everyone, just an update....we took jason for his 2nd eeg yesterday and now just waiting the next two weeks for answers/results. living up north, things take weeks, not days. we had the nicest eeg lady this time. she was very friendly and reassuring to jason (unlike the last guy).
he was definately sleep deprived! it was his 13th birthday so we took his best friend with us and got a fancy schmancy room for them (we live 4 hours from the closest hospital for these tests) and made it a party for him. we got them a king size bed that they could relax in and play the playstation 3 in and fancy bathrobes, big pool and hot tub and they must have rode the elevators about 30 times....hahaha, us small town folk dont have those here....they stayed up all night and made it till 6am! poor kid, we had to get up at 7 am to get ready to head to the hospital. when we were done the eeg, the lady printed him out a couple pages of his eeg and made it into a birthday card for him. how nice....
the whole experience for him was very fun and pleasant. im glad. it is hard for a 13 yr old boy to except that he has epliepsy let alone having to spend his most special birthday hooked up to a machine as a reminder.
i will keep you posted when we know anything.
thanks again for your support,
jays mom,
chrissy

It sounds like you turned this potentially negative situation into a positive and fun experience for Jason and his friend. I'm glad the EEG went well. Hopefully the results will give you better direction for your future decisions.

There are a few good EEG techs

Glad you got one. When I was a kid the tech let me play on the EEG & see what it did then let me take it home. Even now I remember how cool I thought it was but making a birthday card from an EEG...... that beats my tech!

Also I don't know if this is a consolation to you but even in southern BC things take weeks as well. We're just the "laid back" (slow) province of Canada
