Lecithin and choline?

Does anyone here take lecithin and/or choline supplements? I was just looking at information in regards to what may help with withdrawal from Effexor and these two were mentioned. So I did a little reading and , supposedly, these supplements are supposed to help with memory and may be low in people with neurological disorders.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone takes these, and whether you feel they've helped or not, and whether you've developed a fishy body odor from the choline (apparently that can happen... huh).

Lecithin is a B vitamin- I would make sure I take it in Complex with other B vitamins.Choline is also included with B - complex vitamins actually is part neurotransimitter,

No problems taking either of these nutrients.

I just looked over my B vitamin complex, and I didn't see lecithin or choline listed on there -- do they go by other names?

Not usually , But I would do a internet search, to make sure . B vitamins are usually water soluble- So overdosing is not a problem- Balance though is -You don't wan to up one vitamin without knowing what another needs.
Beta Carotene is under used in my book-It's important is not always noted

Actually Lecithin is a lipid. Choline however is often grouped with the B-vitamines.

Quote :
Choline is a water-soluble essential nutrient.[1][2][3][4][5] It is usually grouped within the B-complex vitamins. Choline generally refers to the various quaternary ammonium salts containing the N,N,N-trimethylethanolammonium cation.

Okay, so now that I'm more clear on what these are (thank you!)

Does anyone take them as part of a supplement or as an additional supplement? Did you find it helped or not? How much were you taking?

I took choline a long time ago & I"m trying to remember if it made the seizures worse, gave me insomnia or both.

I always take an essential fatty acid supplement but I rotate from fish oil, flaxseed oil, & occasionally lecithin. I find as long as I'm taking one of those I feel as though it helps my memory.

It's been a while since I used lecithin. Thanks for making me think of using it when I run out.
