Life since leaving my hell-hole job....So, as you (or most of you) are aware, I've been on the hunt for a full-time permanent job....hoping that it'll be somewhere that I'll have an understanding boss ! Now the thing is, although I've been rather unlucky with trying to find a job, my seizure life has completely changed for the better. Since I've been out of THAT place, my life has made a complete turnaround.....I was having at least one a week, which usually came in a cluster of 3 or 4 over a period of days.....I'm now looking at having had only 2 over the past 5 weeks !! (and these only came in single clusters, with breaks of 2-3 weeks between them). If my life continued with only having 2 every 5 weeks, that would equate to approximately 20 every year, which would (for me) be fantastic, as it stands. The bad news is, I ain't getting an income !! ![]() I think all I need right now is to find that 'nice' job, in a 'nice' place, with people who listen. It's just a shame that the well seems to have ran dry at the moment, what with the current state off the financial climate, and I just have to 'ride it out' until it comes along. So, therefore, I can conclude that a stressful job is NOT the direction I need to take in life, but a more 'average' job. Surely less money, but better health has got to be the way forward ? (just thought I'd post something a little positive for a change, and maybe something that people can read and think 'hey, that sounds just like what I've been going through at work', and make a change.) |

| While I agree with the others, sometimes a specific place of employment just is not worth it at all - not even for a 'normal' human being! You're better off somewhere else where you're treated with respect, and a much better environment! GOOD LUCK with your new venture to a better future which lies ahead! |

| Silver linings ... They exist. It's really great to hear that your seizure activity has diminished. ![]() Best wishes on finding the right employment opportunity.

| Good to hear about the E-status. That is great. ![]() Best wishes on the job. It has been awhile, but I used to link my seizures not to times of stress, but within days or weeks of getting over the stress. For example, I would be extremely busy at work and when the deadlines were met would go on vacation, then Wham! Almost like my body would let the guard down. |

| Hmmm Buckeye, my body has a similar response when it comes to vacation time.... Every time the kids have a holiday from school, I come down with a wicked cold... |

| Thanks Guys. I'm looking forward to a 'New Year, New Career' situation.... ....one other thing though that could be helping the control over my seizure's - I'm getting a couple of hours more sleep every night ? Maybe I just needed a GOOD rest to recharge my batteries...they were certainly drained a few months ago. PS. I usually get the 'guard down' seizure time on holiday's too. I used to put it down to the change in time zones, as we used to jet off to FL which is 5 hours behind the UK, so plenty of time to have to 're-adjust the body-clock' too. However, just last year we went to Menorca, which was something like a 1 hour adjustment (no difference to times of medication etc.), and I still had seizure's by the end off the holiday. It's strange, but it never seems to happen at the beginning of a holiday. It can happen BEFORE the holiday, and towards the END, but never that bit in between, or as soon as we're back home. |
