I was wondering if anyone has lived in another country and been able to maintain their healthcare, medications, etc.? If so, how did you do it and for how long? I am trying to get a fellowship to study in Mongolia (long story), but the one thing holding me back is my health. When I have traveled extensively, my epileptologist will write my prescriptions out for three months, but I don't know if he would do it for a longer period than that.

When I was studying in France long ago, my parents would fill my Rx and send it to me in a "care package".

I looked into working for the Peace Corps recently and they have a very good medical department that will keep you supplied in the back of beyond for years.

They are making a concerted effort to recruit older folks these days, not just the young kids trying to figure out wha they want to be when they grow up. So they are very good about medical support. IDK what they have in Mongolia.
