Malaria Precautions and EpilepsyDoes anyone know if anti-malaria tablets have a reaction to epileptic medications. I take Lamacital and Keppra Cheers in advance |

| Not sure how accurate this is, but I found it in another forum... "Lariam is not safe in epilepsy and can cause all kinds of psychiatric side effects. Doxycycline is safe in epilepsy. It can cause nausea and sickness, but you can normally prevent this by taking it with a meal. You also should not lie down within an hour of taking it and remember that it makes you vulnerable to sunburn. Malarone is safe in epilepsy and side effects are much less common. It should be taken with fatty food or a glass of milk to aid absorption. You can always try them out before you travel so there is time to switch. Do not consider travelling unprotected under any circumstances." |

| Thanks guys keep them coming.... Im not sure switching meds is a good idea whilst kind of controlled, it could mess up my epilepsy which in turn prevent me travelling aboard. |
