My neurologist put me on Neurontin in Nov 2009. It was the 5th med he'd tried me on to help with my partials & the last med he tried before referring me to an epiologist to look into brain surgery.
I hated being on the neurontin & the side effects, my memory was worse then normal, I was emotional (could cry at the drop of a pin), I was always tired & being on high dosages of 3 meds made me feel like a zombie.
I was on Neurontin for 12 months & the only reason I got of it was because when I went in for my VEEG in Nov 2010 I told the specialists how the neurontin affected me so they took me straight of it.
When my neuro put me on it I was also on Tegrteol & high dosage of Keppra.

My pain management doctor put me on it for nerve pain. I finally decided to have back surgery for the pain and had to stop taking it before surgery. I still needed to see the pain management doctor for 2-3 months after surgery. He kept pushing me to take the stuff. I told my neurosurgeon how much I hated the stuff and he told me to stop taking it. The pain management idiot kept telling me it would help with my anxiety. I don't know how to explain it but I was the most anxiety ridden zombie that you could imagine. I think if I had continued to take the stuff I would have either accidently or intentionally killed myself.

FYI lol my mental health doc is going to love this.We tried different meds for depression and ending up stopping all of them cause they were useless...iam already a zombie and I don't want to be worse.and now with foot pain and numbness,just wondering what is safe to use.

I took large doses of this for approx. 10 years. I started with 100M cap daily for a few days then gradually increased the dosage. It was great for me for nerve pain & migraine prevention. I helped with anxiety & I slept for the first time in years. I was lethargic & sleepy when I first started taking it but I worked through it. It does seem to effect memory but mine was already bad to begin with. I still take 100M at night occ for nerve pain.
