Nocturnal Seizure?I am just feeling out of it today, my head is better, but still feeling the soreness in my neck. Is it possible this was a nocturnal seizure? I have never had this experience before. |

um yesssss although I don't have simple or complex partials, there have been a few of my nocturnal t/c's that I DO remember having nightmares before, which in my case might have been the rare aura for me. (I typically never have them). I am NEVER awake for the t/c's.........I wake up and find myself, um, well, totally askew and my tongue completely butchered. And the occasional broken bone. Call your neurologist, PLEASE. |

| Thanks, I will. I have an appointment for July 1st and I have been trying to wait until then to discuss that I have been having some issues. I have been having just simple partials with no following complex for last several weeks. Then after being complex partial free since August, I had a complex partial two weeks ago. I think he needs to up my Keppra level or change my meds. I guess when you get a lot of negative feedback (family!), you start doubting yourself. I should know that I know myself better than anyone else. It helps to have someone tell me that I am right to be concern. J |

| The support group in your life is your most important asset when you have any problems. The support that people show each other here makes me so happy to be a part of it all. A silver lining to each and every dark cloud if you take the time to look deep enough |

| My son told me that prior to my dog coming in his room to get him, she was wildly barking....I have no memory of that at all. Which makes me think it was a seizure. Saw doc this morning...he thinks so too. He upped my Keppra to 1000mg 2x day and wants to keep in close contact with him if I have any more episodes. Thanks for your support! |

| So are you going to take time to work on those "fears"?

| Well, the stuff in my nightmare was things that are pretty much fears to most people...harm coming to children, pets, self, etc. It is very strange...I know they say everyone dreams, it just a matter if you remember them...but I rarely ever have dreams that I remember. But this one was so vivid, it was terrifying. I tried researching nightmares and nocturnal seizures..I did find out that it is not uncommon (and Metz confirmed) that there is a connection. I am hoping getting a handle on the seizures is going to take care of the nightmare issue...I think the last time I had a nightmare that upset me was when I was 10 and watched Night Gallery! (And no, I don't watch scary shows!) I am so happy that Rosie sleeps with me...knowing that she went and got my son when this happen, makes me feel at ease. Since I am not married and don't know what goes on when I am asleep...there has been a concern "what if something happens". My son said Rosie came into his room and when he didn't get right up, she started barking. He said he was assuming she wanted to go potty and started walking to the back of the house...Rosie stood firm in the hall between the bedrooms and continued to bark. When he came back to her, she ran to my bedroom doorway and looked back at him...he said that is when he got it that she was trying to get him to follow her. |

| My shoulder pain started getting worse after I saw the neurologist, I am still hurting and wondering if I actually did something to hurt myself. That makes me wonder to if my seizures are changing. I have always had simple and complex partials and while I hurt myself once, I do not believe I have had the jerking or jumpy movement. Do people who have simple or complex have this, or has my type of seizure changed? |

I had some doozies When I was on Zarontin when I was a kid. Always dreamt that I was falling. No longer on meds, but I get those dreams where danger is coming, and you can't move. |

| For over 20 years I would have a seizure once or sometimes twice a month during my sleep. in 1998 I had a right temprol lobectomy. After the surgery my seizures were still once a month but were followed by somthing new, postitical phycosis a period of confusion where Im uncontrolable and unaware of anything. A nightmare come true. |

| I haven't heard anything good about surgeries. I'm steering clear. |
