Question for ya'all

I have been trying to work up a time line for my neurologist. I think I can pretty much narrow my causal event down to the head trauma I suffered when I was hit by a car at the age of 7. I suffered a cuncussion and contusions to the head and face but focus was given to the compound fracture of my leg.

There are some "odd" things that have happened over the years and I'm not sure if I should include those on the time line or not. One is a one-off and 2 were repetitive but have not occurred, well, in the past 12.5 years.

1. About a year after I was hit by the car I somehow walked to school in my sleep. I was not a sleep walker. It was not time for school (it may not have even been a school day). I was in my pajamas. I was brought back home by an adult. My mother said I was crying that they wouldnt let me in the door, then I went back to my room and went back to bed.

2. It was a standing order in the watch book onboard my ship not to touch me and wake me up to stand watches. They were to beat on the side of my rack/bunkbed. Apparently I was quite hostile and would grab people or strike out at them. I was not like this previously nor am I like this now.

the 3rd odd thing was another one that occurred in my sleep:

3. This was a "talking in my sleep" deal and went on for quite some time. it was commented on by many people to include my shipmates, my ex husband and my roommates...actually, people made fun of me because of it. It was always the same thing too. Apparently I would say " The ducks, the ducks" then I would raise my hand and say "quack, quack" and just commence sleeping again. My current husband says I have never done this to his knowledge.

So does anyone think these are worth mentioning to my neurologist or are they just normal crazy things that people sometimes do? I'm trying to build a more complete picture of my injury history since the simple partials are now part of the picture and I'm still working on trying ot find anymore triggers besides stress and sleep deprivation too.

If I'm not sure if I should tell a neurologist something I usually do tell. I think that s/he will know if it's relevant or not. Besides, I'd rather tell my neurologist something irrelevant than not tell them something that might make a difference.

Do you have complex partials?? Because if its a seizure you need to mention it to your neurologist.

My husband had the weirdest behaviors while having a complex partials.

Shipmates though? Are you or were you in the Navy??

Yes, I have complex partials w/ secondary generalization, straight complex partials, simple partials and smell Auras. I just found out that I was having all of these around the end of march/ beginning of april. Before that we thought I was just having tonic clonics for the past 12 yrs. The simple partials have been going on since I was a kid but were always attributed to just being odd behaviors or nervous tics.

Yes, I was in the Navy back in the 80's, lol.

I would agree with Epileric.....Tell the doc all of the things that come to mind. If it is not anything related to your difficulties, then they just make interesting stories for later You never know what could be important.

I'd definitely mention this to your neurologist. They sound like my complex partials. I talk and say odd things, walk around, etc. I have no memory of it afterwards. Your walk to school in your pajamas is a classic. At least you had cloths on!
