I just thought I'd make you all aware of the fact that doctors listed on RateMD can (and will) remove negative feedback, if they so choose, and this does include feedback which is negative, but completely appropriate.

I had rated my neurologist a couple of months ago. This was the neurologist who had initially agreed to a 72-hour EEG (instead of the "in"-hospital EEG she had originally wanted to order), but 2 weeks later when I'd called to see what the hold-up was in scheduling it, she refused me this 72-hour EEG and also my request for her to at least verify that I was remembering correctly. She would not answer y or n (so I know I wasn't imagining her instructions), and she eventually hung up on me when I persisted. Just thought you all should be aware...

didnt know about this site , but i cant say im surprised , if all theese doctors left the negative comments , then the rest of the world would know what i have already concluded .... there are no good doctors ! ( okay i guess i cant say NONE exsist , but i sure havent found one , wow im cynical lately

Quite a few of my (negative) posts were deleted. In fact, with the neuro I mentioned above, that post disappeared within a day and was immediately replaced with 5 stars and a wonderful review, of course.

I agree though...most doctors are robots anymore. They stare at their laptops and do as insurance tells them to do without argument, without thinking for themselves what the best course is in treating a patient. I guess there might be good doctors out there, but I'm beginning to believe they all are in research.

Elizza,

That is true! Some of the "ratings" sites are actually subsciption sites on which the doctor pays to have a listing. It's a marketing tool, and they can do anything they want to their webpage, including deleting and/or rewriting reviews. These are definitely not consumer-oriented pages.

Others ARE consumer oriented. The ratings stand. Healthgrades is one of them, but they don't have writing, just stars.

You're right...one of my reviews is 'under review'. Review by whom?...the doctor? And not all of my postings required a review. But thanks for the info on that other website.

I'm in the UK, but we have a patient feedback thing that is on all hospital websites. You can report reviews. Well there was one very dodgy review that looked as if it was written by the neurologist, it named him too and had nothing but praise and was OTT, it was just too suspicious if you know what I mean.
Now normally, if you report a suspicious review, they will not remove it, and explain why, saying it abides by the terms and conditions. However, this review was removed after I reported it, but no explanation!

I had posted a review about my neurologist the day she had ticked me off. By the next day my review was gone, and a wonderful review that was only 1 or 2 sentences long and was beaming with praise appeared. You can always tell when it's the doctor doing it...it wreaks of praise, yet it is short as if they didn't want to waste the time to go into any detail...better things to do, I guess...as long as the negative one is removed.

I think there should be sanctions against any doctor or specialist posting false reviews, a black mark or something left on their record, as if they are posting false reviews, they have deliberately and wilfully mislead, lied, and been fraudulent. The same should also apply for any that try to get genuine negative reviews taken down.

I agree, because what's the point of having these websites if the reviews aren't genuine, either way, positive or negative? And actually, after that negative post of mine was removed, I tried to log on right away to repost another one, and it wouldn't let me. Next day same thing. I had to wait several months to be able to post on there again.
