side effects with keppra and

i was diagnoised with epilepsy recentley and i am trying out different tablets. i am on keppra topamax (topiramate). i dont know any1 else that has epilepsy so any discussion would be appreciated

Lots of folks here have experience with Keppra or Topomax or both. I'm not one of them (I'm a Dilantin/Zonegran/Lamictal person), so I'll let them chime in with their comments and advice. I'm on Depakote, Tegretol, Keppra and Lamicta (all generic versions of them).

I'm not sure which med causes what but I'm tired a good bit, I have diarraha. I know on some of them I wasn't hungry or I'd eat like crazy, I'm not sure if I'm still taking the meds that caused these symptoms or if the neurologist just changed the dosages of them.

I've heard that one of these meds, I can't remember wich one though, causes problems with your memory. I know I have memory problems with the epilepsy in general though.

With the Keppra I have kepprage. It doesn't take too much to set me off. I've gone off on people in stores and I just can't be around kids for too long. We usually try to go out and do things when the stores and other places are going to be the least busy, usually early in the morning, espically on Sundays.

I've gone off in the movie theater so often because of people in there. The kids that are constantly on their cell phones texting or what ever really set me off. I went to a movie where they brought a young kid once who wasn't old enough to read so their parents read the subtitles to the kid so he'd know what was going on.

I hope you find meds that work for you. I know I went through many different meds and dosages of them till we finally found some that work. It's just something you have to be paitent about. Sometimes the first meds you take won't work for you.
