Unhappy And so it goes

The past year and a half has been a hard one for my 19 year old daughter with E. She has been hospitalized 5 times with status and had been averaging 4 T/C's per week. Then things started looking up--she hadn't had even one seizure since October 18, 2007! Not even any "twitches". We were so pleased and perhaps lulled into a false sense of security. That had been the longest she had ever gone without seizures in 1 1/2 years! Then BAM, right out of the blue last evening she had 2 T/C's. We did the ER thing with the IV dilantin and the works. It's all so very discouraging.

Lisa

Hi Lisa - so sorry to hear about your daughter. My daughter is 16 dealing with similar issues, though luckily she has only had one status, and avg 4 per month. Have you considered dietary changes? I believe it has helped Rebecca quite a bit. Do you keep a diary or journal?

Give her my best.

Another opinion:

{{{Lisa & daughter}}}

I've been on that same merry-go-round with Stacy. Just when you think she's solved the puzzle, you get a reminder that it's not a 100% solution.

Still, I like to consider that increasing periods of time between seizures is heading on the right path.
