9 hours in the heat with little food does not make for a good seizure day. All I can say is WOW. I did drink a lot of water and I was trying to eat but after about 4 and a half hours outside I had an aura that would not go away and the complex's just kept on a coming. It wasn't that bad as I was taking it easy and only playing DH and catcher and no seizures happened while I was up to bat or on the field. I did however, end up with heat exhaustion also and blacked out (didn't fall over) as a ball was being thrown at my head. Everything came back into focus right before the ball got to me and luckily my glove was in the right spot. I did get the last out of that game with a tag and I also ended up hitting pretty well too (there was an upside to the day). I had fun, but pretty much collapsed once I got home.
Soo... for all of you sport playing epileptics, if you are going to a 9 hour softball tournament and it is supposed to be 106, be more prepared than me and if you need to take a break! You might be able to handle the shinanigans the day of, but the headache you end up with the next day is SOOOOO NOT worth it.
