started extended release lamictal

I will keep you all updated if anyone is interested in trying out the extended release, my neurologist gave me samples yesterday.

My only concern is that I buy my medication from online pharmacys, and I have yet to find a pharmacy (did some research today) that are selling the extended release (since it only just came out)

I am also adding neurontin to my cocktail as this was a good add on med for me before (didnt/havnt done good on lamictal alone..or neurontin alone)

Anyway Im keeping a track/diary of it and will let you know.

If anyone knows a pharmacy online thats already selling extended release lamictal PLEASE let me know

I decided to stay with the regular Lamictal because of price considerations, but I'll be interested to hear how effective the XR version is for you, especially in terms of side effects.

Best,
Nakamova

I'd also

be interested to hear how the XR version works for you....I'm using 75 mg of Lamictal in both the morning and evening (in addition to a few other anti-epileptic drug's), and I sometimes wonder if it would be the better deal for me or not...

Lamictal side effect

Since people here are on Lamictal I have a question - I have just started to take Lamictal - started at 50 mg and am now at 100 working toward 200. I am also on 500 mg of Dilantin which I will wean off once I am on full dose of Lamictal. Here is my question - I know a common side effect is a headache - I have had a headache but only on the right hand side. There is a dull ache and then frequent sharp, squeezing pain that radiates down behind my ear. Sometimes I feel like I have an ear ache and I also have pressure behind my right eye. The sensations seem to get worse as I up my med but do even out as the week wears on ( as if my body gets used to it)
I have been diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy (and although some of symptoms reflect frontal lobe??) I also have an aneurysm that has been coiled and stented (no rupture) on the right side (was recently seen by neurosurgeon and it is well coiled etc...)
Does this type of headache sound like a common effect? and if so will it go away as I adjust to the med??

I had the "Lamictal headache" while I was adjusting to the med. It is a common side effect. Mine put in appearances for about a month and a half and then went away. It hovered over the right eye and responded best to Tylenol. I've been on my current dose of Lamictal since last November -- 200mg per day. No headache, but a few other side effects are still annoying (acne, zero libido, weight gain, blurry vision.)

Lamictal (Generic) 200mg

I've been on 200 mg of generic Lamictal for about 10 months and I think it works wonderfully, with little side-effects. The only noticable side-effect is that I bruise easily. But that could be because I'm always walking into walls!
