started weaning

so i started weaning today, (thought it would me much more drastic and faster but).
3 days before go down to keppra 500 am and pm
morning of admission no keppra
and only half a topamax (25mg)

i usually take 500 am and 1000 pm of keppra and 50 topamax bid.
i will be going to school being on monday, probably after having a whole bunch of nocturnals. and then on tuesday, im being admitted and they are taking me off meds. this shall be interesting.lol last time i went in for a video EEG i stayed on meds. this time will be different.

im exhausted right now so my writing is a little weird

I hope things turn out good for your video EEG! I have mine scheduled for March 7th. I have no clue if they will be taking me off my meds. They really didnt tell me much, besides giving me a pamplet on what I can bring, and where to go.

I'm glad your weaning is going well, so far. The half life of Keppra is 6-8 hours, so it should be out of your system relatively quick - like within a couple of days.

When you get to the hospital for your eeg they'll put you into a nice, padded bed with rails up at all times. So you'll be okay. AND you'll get to eat hospital custard, which we all know is the best thing in the universe. (I am not joking here - it really is good!)

Let us know how you are doing as the days go on, okay?

Good luck with the weening. It took about 3-4 months to get my wife weened off the Tegretol. I was scared s***less, because she's been on it her whole life and the 10years I knew her. Everything went along as normal.

small change in plans. after a LOT of seizures, my parents aren't letting me go to school tomorrow so we are just stopping by to pick up work. it doesn't matter that much but a little weaning goes a long way

I know it's frustrating not to go to school, but you really do belong at home. You are safer there while weaning off your meds. Think of it as a nice vacation.... with books.... and with homework.

Gosh, are you feeling okay? That's actually a lot of seizures to deal with.

Good luck

darlin', cuz I hate having to go off meds. It sucks a hill o'beans. And a chewed up tongue is worse, in my book at least.

I'll be thinking about you!!!
