Sunshine and Shade....

Hope everyone had a great holiday! I spent a lot of time outside and made every possible effort to stay in the shade. I was moving my chair every 15 minutes or so. I probably looked crazy, but I wanted to avoid the sun, as my meds say to do. But here is the stinker....I got a terrible sunburn even in the shade what do you suggest? I know, I know, lots of sunscreen, but I should be able to go out with out it once in awhile

My nephews name is Shade and my niece's name is Araya Sunshine. Not related, but your thread title reminded me of them.

I don't know how my sister manages it, but even when she and I are outside together in the same spot for the same amount of time, I get burned and she doesn't. I suspect vampirism.

Seriously, though, she tends to wear a hat and/or use a parasol.

Check ebay! Let me know if you find anything--I'll take two!

I recommend a cabaña boy to keep your chair in the shade, fan you with a giant palm frond, apply sunscreen, and make sure your drink order arrives promptly.

Well, if you can't get that cabana boy to protect you from the sun, try sunscreen clothing. Most of it protects you from about 99% of the sun, but only the parts of you covered by the cloths. I like the shirts to protect my back and shoulders, which almost always get burned. Just gooogle "sunscreen clothing" and lots of resources will pop up.

P.S. If you can't use the cabana boy, can you send him over here?

I have never heard of that type of clothing before! Something I will look in to.

As for Cabana Boy, I am sure that I could find use for him somehow. I did notice my windows are looking a little hazy
