Symptoms of Shock are just like My Seizures

At my first aid class today the symptoms of shock-- got my thinking...

During my seizures where I remain consciousness, the bold symptoms are the ones I have. These progress and can get very worse if I do not sit down and relax. I can stand and relax also. I just need to stop trying to talk and being spoke to. After about 6 minutes they will be gone and I may feel tired and nauseous.
Why does my face turn white/pale?
No blood in it. Well... Why did it leave?

Pale skin complexion (pallor).
•Clammy skin (cold sweat).
•Rapid thready pulse (increased heart rate).
•Rapid breathing (increased respiration rate usually with shallow breathing).
•Low blood pressure
•Dizziness
•Fainting or loss of consciousness
•Confusion, anxiety or irritability
•Cyanosis, first noticed as bluish fingers, toes and lips and later as bluish appearance of face.
•Little or no urine
•Chest pain

Well a seizure is a kind of shock. At least in a tonic clonic, the neurons start firing like crazy, and the body responds by trying protect the brain by getting as much oxygen as possible to it right away (that's the "scream" people hear with tonic-clonics -- it's actually a sharp intake of breath). And as the blood heads to the brain and leaves the extremities, you get the bluish fingers and tones, the pale complexion, and the clammy skin.

I realize you're talking about seizures where you remain conscious, not a t-c, but maybe some of the same "red alert" processes are set in motion, with the same results on the body/brain.

Some of the symptoms you mentioned may also be auras (or warning signals) telling you that a seizure might be imminent. Please pay attention to these b/c they will give you time to protect yourself if you're aware of any of these "signals". Your body is telling you something! I have learned that some of these signs - for me, at least - are a form of aura which precedes a seizure.

Thnk you for the reply, I understand.

When I talk about epilepsy....
An aura is a seizure, just a small one that some people can call a partial also.
So when I don't take my medicine and as my seizure threshold drops I will start to have small ones that get worse.

Thank you, thank you so much for posting.

Thank you so much for posting this. This is the first time I have heard of the
pale skin. I had my first known episode when I was 5. My symptoms always included the pale skin. That's how my mom would know that I was about to have a seizure. But when I would tell the doctors about the pale skin they always told me it was not part of a seizure. I have been sent to heart doctor after heart doctor and they said that even though I have mvp that the symptoms that I would tell them of would not be a heart problem. I was eventually diagnosed with sensory seizures but it still not not account for the pale skin. It makes me feel that maybe I am not crazy after seeing your post.
Thank you.
