Teeth grinding

Hi all, Happy New Year to everyone hope its a good one for all. Having some trouble with grinding my teeth. Ive done it for as long as I can remember but lately its getting really bad, giving me shocking headaches mainly on one side, plus Im twitching so bad in bed of a night Ive just about cleared the bedside table & wacked my partner in the face without waking. Am off to the Dr. tomorrow for some med repeats & am going to mention it but has anyone else had the same problem. Cheers for now, Hed.

Hi Hedtrouble --

You're not alone, that's for sure! Below are some links to previous CWE discussions about teeth grinding. For me it was a side effect of Lamictal, but for others it seems to be seizure-related. You might want to see a dentist about getting a mouthguard so you don't damage your teeth. It might help with the headaches too.

Teeth

Hi Naka, Thanks for the reply. Yes Im going to see a dentist hopefully soon. Seems like every time I post a question its answered that sure makes me feel not so alone. You also answered my question re depression. Am off to see a shrink on the 29th of this month. Please forgive me if I repeat myself in some of my replies my memory is, well, not so good. Unless you have someone who goes through the same sort of symptoms as you its very hard for those around you to fully understand especially when the're not really interested. Its so nice to be around like minded people. The pristiq is making me feel a little better but will see what the GP says tomorrow & the shrink says. Take care, Hed.

Hope the GP, shrink, and dentist can help -- let us know how your appointments go. It's great that you're being proactive about your health.

I had lots of teeth grinding since I was young, long before my daignosis of epilepsy. In fact, shortly before my first known tonic-clonic, I was on a trip and one of my friends said I was grinding my teeth like crazy at night. I often wonder if I was having minor seizures already then.

I have not related this to any med. I think it has always been there.

Hey Buck

Thanks for the post. Yeh Ive been grinding away for a while now told the Doc about it this morning. Have got a letter to see a dentist so am hoping with some dental work & maybe a guard things might ease off. I'll have no teeth left if I keep this up. Happy New Year to you too. Cheers, Hed.
