| Infections (including UTIs) can trigger seizures if you already have a lower seizure threshold. (It's happened to me). Maybe that's what happened in your case. Even though the burning feeling is gone, I recommend that you drink plenty of water, and try drinking cranberry juice with a small amount of baking soda in it. |

| Thanks so much for the helpful replies but the funny thing is as soon as the seizures went away so did the burning and the need to urinate. Does that make any sense at all? I suspect it was a part of the seizure. I did not have this problem all day yesterday just when the seizure started and when it stopped the problem stopped. Just plain weird I tell you. I have had plenty of of UTI's before but never like this. I had just seen my OB-GYN earlier in the day (no pelvic exam though just to talk about something) or else I would have said something to her. This was just a weird seizure I guess. I have been drinking plenty of water today just as a precaution and no burning and no urgency like yesterday so I just hope it was a fluke thing. If not I will call my doctor. Thanks again for the great advice. tam bam |

| There is a connection between the two. I would take this as a signal that you need to work on healing the organs involved. You might have your answer. There might be underlying infection or inflammation that is not detected or felt until it gets really bad.

I've been thoroughly checked by both an ob/gyn and kidney specialist. I had an intravenous pyelogram (IVP) and cytoscopy in 2000, both showing normal results. And I've had cat scans of my pelvic area, all normal. So I do think it's neurological. |

| I'm so glad someone brought this up, Ive too embarrassed. When I feel I need to urinate I have strong auras. This has been happening to me for years. So weird. |

| Tam bam, Interesting. I never put the two together. Over the past few years I kept on thinking I had a bladder infection, went to the doc, and everything was perfectly fine. I just labled it in my own head as an "irritable bladder." I have other bladder probems, too, that I didn't know was seizure related until I was on this forum, like my bladder suddenly just letting loose. No notice, no time to get anywhere appropriate for it. Once it was in the isle of the hardware store and I just blamed it on my poor little service dog. Now I know it's a seizure, because I can identify that icky pre-seizure feeling I get, and also notice when another type of simple partial or a complex partial follows it. But if I never went out when I feel an aura, I'd be a 100% shut-in. |

| I've had similar experience with just having the partials but on days where there were clusters . I wondered if the point of electrical activity was the area in the brain that would control urine urge? |
