vimpat symptom?

Hi, I was curious if anyone taking Vimpat experienced muscle pain? specifically shoulder pain. Ever since I was put on Vimpat, I had extremly stiff and achy shoulders, sometimes down my arm and a little across my upper shoulder/chest area. I can barely move my arms its so bad. And it only started when I started the med. Thank you!

Kim

Hi, Kimba,

I'm not on Vimpat, but I have a sore shoulder that is very painful when I'm on Lamictal. It dissapeared when I was taken off Lamictal, back again now that I was put back on. It extends up my neck and into my jaw, and across my chest to the collarbone. My PCP says it's a pulled muscle. It sure doesn't feel like that. And why does it dissapear when I go off Lamicatal, and reappear when I'm back on?

It's a mystery.

I've been on Vimpat for several months now and have had no problem with muscle pain just dizzyness.

Lamictal is known to cause muscle aches and pains (Endless, you are right and your PCP is wrong), so perhaps this is a side effect for Vimpat as well. The Vimpat site does list muscle weakness as a side effect.
