VNS and burping

I got my VNS implant about 3 years ago and ever since I've had some real burping problems. It's more of an inhale burp than an exhale one (the opposite of what a normal burp usually is). My friend said that I sound like a monster when I do it.

I have gone to a dr about it and they couldn't find anything wrong.

I know that people have said that they have had problems with hic-ups, but I haven't had any problems with that at all.

I tried to post this on a VNS message board that someone suggested but it wouldn't let me so I figured I'd try here and see if anyone could give me any info about it.

Thanks!

LOL I was in the shower. Your account on my site has been approved.

What you are experiencing are spasms of the diaphragm. Not too common but if your doctors lowers the parameters it should ease this side effects.

Thanks, I know that we all have to get clean sometime!

I'll mention this when I go see my neurologist next month. I think that's my appointment to see if he needs to make any changes to the VNS.
