Went to Dr.'s yesterday!

I went to my Neurologist yesterday for a checkup and had a MRI plus a EEG. Geese what a headache with the loud sounds and flashing. But got good news if everything turns out ok. I can get my license in 3 mths if I am seizure free. But I dont plan to push it anyway. Just nice to hear for the first time. Also if everything goes ok I am going to sign up for school next year in January but school starts in August. I want to be a Patient Care Tech. Also if I can help others with Epilepsy if I can. My Neurologist said I can get a job at his office cause I would be a great example. Which sounds good. I love that hospital and never felt any confortable anywhere else. I went to see the girls that took care of me during my surgery and they were so excited. It was so wonderful to see them. Lets just say everything is going well so far but is falling into place so fast. I am shocked how fast things are going. I gave my Neurologist, the lady that always calls me on the phone and returns my calls, and the surgeon a card. They all loved it. But I just wanted to tell you all how everything is going so far. I go back in November for my next check-up. I will keep you posted.

WOW!! That's just fantastic!! I am so very happy for you. And, if this works out like it sounds like, I'm happy for future patients in that office. Just think how good that will be for them.
Bless you heart.

Thank you so much for the messages. I am really thinking about where I want to work. I have always wanted to go back and work with kids. But since I had this surgery and it has changed my life in so many ways. I may just want to go and help people with Epilepsy, or maybe both. I just wanted to help people that have Epilepsy cause I know how it feels. I have never felt so free and more opened to others. I am not as shy as I used to be. It all started when my seizures started. I was always never sure how to act or how anyone would act around me. So I ended up growing up that way and was very shy in school and work. Now I have never felt like I have talked so much in my life. LOL.. It is a wonderful feeling to have. Thank you all for your messages. I will keep you updated on how everything turns out. Just remember all of you that still have Epilepsy, stay strong. I know some days are not as easy as it may seem. But you have to stay strong and tell yourself that everything will be ok. There will always be good days and bad. Just enjoy life as it comes. God Bless and Take care.

Thank you so much Josie!

I cant find the perfect words on how I feel. Everything has been going so great and falling into place. Especially faster than what I thought. Now it is time to study the liscense book then the test for school. Geese. I feel like I am back in high school. LOL.. Alot of studying to get where you want. I can say it will take me time to get where I want cause of my memory loss but I will do whatever it takes to get there. Without all of your supporting me and helping me when I need it. Just like we do each other. I dont know how I would do this.

Bernard thank you so much for making this forum for all of this to meet so many great people to talk to. You have helped us so much. Take care.

I just can say it has changed my life in so many good ways that I am looking forward to. This year I cant wait to go to the Walk-a thon for Epilepsy Foundation. They are having 3 over here but 2 on the same date. So I am going to, 2 of them. I cant wait to see how that goes. I plan to do it every year that I can to help the people with Epilepsy. It makes me feel good that I did something for someone else as they have done for me. Thanks again everyone for your messages and support.

I wanted to update everyone on my Doctors apointment last week. I went to see my Neurologist to see what is next. He said he isnt messing with my meds for 2 more years and asked if I wanted to get my license since I have been seizure free for 6 mths. I had no idea what to say. I got really nervous and and felt as my jaw hit the flour. I asked him what I should do. He said yes go for it and he said by my results of my tests there is no worries. He said in 2 years when they start messing with my meds I cant drive for a certain time until everything is in control. I can say I lost my thought and I cant remember exact words he said. I told him let me think about it and he said call me when you decide to get your license and he will let me go for it. I can say it is one huge nervousness I cant even explain. One big change in life. I have to go back in May of next year for a psycological testing for my memory. But he just wanted to see how it was working which he things hasnt changed any. I hope you all are doing well. And I want to thank you so much for your inspiration to move forward and for your friendship. I am still here if you ever need anything. I will keep you updated. Take care..

Shocking and SCARY isn't it? And well worth the effort.

But *I* did it. *I* did it.
After another year of not driving and being scared and alone out here in the country, I started driving again..... very slowly and very carefully and I learned that I can do it.

You're a young, strong woman so your doctor has great confidence that you can too. I bet you can.

Ashley, First - Congratulations!!!!
I know it's scary, but like I always tell you, I have all the faith in the world in you. Look at everything you've done already. I'm so happy for you and its good that you've been practicing. Before you know it, you'll be out cruisin' the streets without even thinking about. I'm thrilled for you!
Sincerely, Josie
