What kind of epilepsy would this be called?I fell on pavement and hit the back of my head, and now I have seizures. They are grand mal, or tonic clonic, but I'm wondering what would I call the condition, as far as Post-traumatic epilepsy, but any other names? I just want to be prepared, because I WILL NOT let myself be bullied again by a rude neurologist, so I am studying the forum and taking notes. Thanks. |

| I wouldnt know what kind of Epilepsy it would be. But I would think if you could have a EEG, and they could pin point exacly where the seizures are coming from, they would be able to tell you. I left temporal lobe epilepsy, and have had grand mals and complex partials, but have been having simple partial seizures.

| Hi CharlesB, You can call your variety: Generalized tonic-clonic epilepsy secondary to head trauma "Generalized" means the seizures originate throughout the brain, and involve loss of consciousness "Tonic-clonic" refers to the actual symptoms, the tonic phase being the brief moment when you go stiff, and clonic being the rapid convulsive contracting of the muscles. And "secondary to head trauma" is basically "post-traumatic" Last edited by Nakamova; 06-29-2011 at 04:58 PM. |

doctor hello dear! Go for the tests- EEG, CT-scan and whatever the doctor advices, then only the exact thing can be pin pointed. Change the doctor if u find him rude, this is going to be a long relation- he should be very understanding and always ready to listen. But whatever ur condition turns out to be, live life fully, dont get disheartened! |
