Work night out in a place i should avoid

For ages now, after loads of changes in staff and clients at work, we've been planning a night out for staff so we can get to know each other outside of work. The idea is that we start off with a meal and then head on to a rock club in town (funny that most of us now are rockers lol)

The thing is that i'm a little worried... I love this club and used to go every weekend. It's the kind of laid back place where you can chill out and have a few dances and stuff.

It's just that over the last couple of years whenever i've been in there i've either had a tonic clonic seizure in the club or when i've got home from it, whether i've been drinking or not. I think it's something to do with a ring of lights around the dance floor which flashes different colours and speeds in time with the music. Or it could just be because it's so loud and busy and inevitably ends in a very late night/early morning.

I don't know whether i should go or not. It would be a good chance to relax and let my hair down, get to know the staff team better, but on the other hand i don't want to ruin the night by having a seizure.

What would you do? I wouldn't be drinking alcohol while i'm out.

HI Lou,
Thats a tough old question,it sounds like you really want to go to the rock club.i know i would. The meal wont be a problem for you,so could you go to the club for a short while? I know its a right pain in the ass leaving early cos you feel like your missing out, would your work mates consider another club more appropirate for you? I think i would rather go out for a bit and not have a seizure but if your like me its easier said than done.
I suppose u know your epilepsy the best,so your the best one to answer your question, have a good night whatever you choose.

ps Your right about the rocker ive got Led Zeppilin blaring at the moment!!!

I agree with Neil, maybe a quick hanging out, then heading home. Ask someone to remind you when it's 10pm (or whenever you've planned to leave). And maybe some of your workmates could chat outside with you for a bit, rather than have you suffering inside in the Disco Inferno...

Well we have to nip out for a smoke anyway lol.

Hmm... maybe i'll do that... head home at midnight like cinderella or something. Just a shame that it is my favourite place to go, ever, and i so rarely go now.
